As a result of the terrorist attacks in New Zealand, the jihadists have already announced an upcoming attack on the Western extremists

New Zealand: jihadists respond to massacres

Last Friday, at least 50 people were killed and 50 others were wounded as a result of a massacre at two mosques in the city of Christchurch, New Zealand. According to official accounts, the attack occurred at 1:40 pm, where several men attacked and killed dozens of people.

According to CNN, the attacker Brenton Tarrant, is a 28-year-old Australian and in his Twitter account he published a manifesto in which he ratifies his "anti-immigrants and anti-Muslims, as well as explanations of an attack". In addition, he describes himself as a white, Australian man, "and lists the white nationalists who inspired him." In the same way, he describes his terrorist plan that took place at the Al Noor mosque on Deans Avenue and the Linwood mosque on Linwood Avenue, both in the center of the city.

Among the main victims were citizens of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Turkey, Malaysia and Indonesia. Given what happened, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, addressed the media stating that "never pronounce the name of the attacker," according to the BBC. In the same way, she implored them to "say the names of those who died instead of the name of the one who killed them. He is a terrorist. He is a criminal. He is an extremist. But, when I speak, he will not have a name."

On the other hand, and as a way to contain possible attacks, the government of New Zealand announced changes in the arms law, since the access of arms in that country "is more relaxed than that of its neighbor Australia", according to RCN. According to Arden, she announced that the attacker was able to access the weapons due to a license he had since 2017.

Despite the fact that the Prime Minister's message has been very clear and has asked for respect for the victims, paramilitary organizations such as Al Qaeda have expressed their discontent with this type of massacres.

In this way, both Al Qaeda and the Islamic State, two of the largest extremist groups in the world, asked their followers to take revenge for the double attack, as RPP explains. Thus, the same media explains that the most active branch of Al Qaeda, Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQMI), "ordered the lone wolves to attempt against the leaders of the extremist right of the crusaders and any person who has shown apology to that cowardly operation."

According to Telemundo, the jihadists claim that the attacks "demonstrate the reality that several try to hide: the battle with the crossed West is religious. Meanwhile, the New Zealand government is doing its utmost to deliver all the fatalities of the attack and thus respect the Muslim religion of burying the dead within within 24 hours.
