Woody and Buzz are back! All you need to know about Toy Story 4

The beloved toys of Toy Story will return to the screen for the summer of 2019. This is what we know so far

Although the third film of Toy Story seemed to be the last movie, Disney and Pixar have announced a new delivery of the story of these toys loved by several generations. The film will be released in US cinemas on June 21, 2019 and will also have a version for IMAX 3D.

This movie will feature the return of its original director, John Lasseter, director of Toy Story and Toy Story 2, this time in the role of producer of the film. The movie will be directed this time by Josh Cooley, animator of Pixar who was a screenwriter of the acclaimed Inside Out and who directed the short film Riley's First Date?.

The cast will be the same: all the actors will be once again behind the voices of your favorite toys. Tom Hanks in the voice of Woody and Tim Allen in the voice of Buzz.

The story behind Toy Story 4

This movie, which will work as a sequel to Toy Story 3, will show us the life of the toys with their new owner, little Bonnie, to whom the university student Andy donated his toys. In their new home, this group of toys will meet Forky, a fork that Bonnie has turned IGNORE INTO a toy and who is now in the middle of an existential crisis when it realizes it does not know what it is.

The toys, then, began an adventure in which, according to the IMDB synopsis, they will show Forky what it is like to be a toy and in which they will learn themselves how big the world can be for a toy. Although we all thought that Toy Story 3 was the end of the saga, it turns out that, as the director Josh Cooley said in some statements, it was just the end of the story with Andy, that is, it was a new beginning.

The director said to Entertainment Weekly that "The world of Toy Story is built around the idea that everything in the world has a purpose. A toy's purpose is to be there for its child. But what about the toys that are made of other objects?."

"Forky is a toy that Bonnie made out of disposable spork, so he's facing a crisis. He wants to fulfill his purpose as a spork, but now has a new toy purpose thrust upon him," he explained.

The trailers

Two trailers of the fourth film have been released and have revealed what Forky, the new character that will accompany Woody and Buzz in their new adventure, looks like.

The first trailer shows the toys that we already know, holding hands with calm expressions, while a music of tranquility and harmony sounds. However, at the end of the love circle would be Forky, who screams that he does not belong there and who start to run. This breaks the calm of the circle and causes the fall of all the other toys.

Then we see it again on the screen in the middle of a crisis while shouting "I'm not a toy!". We can suspect that just that what the film is about: a new character who will come to break the new calm in which the toys live and that will drag them IGNORE INTO a new adventure.

The second is not an official trailer, but it shows two toys that we do not know commenting on the release of the first trailer of the film. One tells the other that a fourth movie will be released and both begin to play to imitate Woody and Buzz.

After saying wrongly Buzz's famous phrase "To infinity and beyond", Woody and Buzz appear on screen to correct them and everyone laughs together. We cannot wait for the premiere of this film to see them all again in this new adventure!
