After his last appearance in April of 2016, Fidel Castro had not been seen until the 13th of August of the same year.

There was a cultural gala to celebrate his 90th birthday.

During the event the Cuban Revolution leader was accompanied by his followers, his brother and current Cuban president Raúl Castro, and the Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro.

Castro, who left the presidence by 2008, wrote a column published on the Cubadebate website, with the purpose of showing gratitude for the event and the gifts for his birthday and the tribute to his childhood and life:

“I was born in a place called Birán, located in the east region of Cuba. It is known under that name, even when it never appeared on the map. Due to my exemplary behavior, I was known by close friends and, of course, by a great amount of politicians and inspectors that were working torwards neo-colonized countries commercial and productive activity worldwide”.

This web portal, is the one Fidel Castro uses to publish his thoughts since 2006, when he decided to give the precedence to his brother.

It includes an extended biography, chronology and more than 3,000 pictures making tribute to his childhood and his whole life.
