1. Amazon
The largest rainforest on the planet, which crosses nine Latin American countries, is an excellent option if you want to vacation in a natural environment and reconnect with Mother Earth. The lung of the world hides countless wonders that will surely fascinate you, because biodiversity abounds in it and is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Within its tourist attractions, specifically in Colombia, there are 4 places:
- Marasha Natural Reserve: You can stay in Malokas with hammocks or beds. According to Colombia.com, there you can take canoe trips on the river and practice the Caimaneada – you can see the alligators that inhabit the river.
- Tarapoto Lake: If you want to observe pink dolphins, Lake Tarapoto is the ideal place. There you will also be able to observe the largest freshwater fish, known as Pirarucú. It is located half an hour from Leticia and you can get through Puerto Nariño as well.
- Monkey Island: As the name implies, on this island thousands of monkeys live, specifically monkeys with yellow feet. This place is considered a sanctuary of flora and fauna and you can take an hour and a half tour.
- Serranía de Chiribiquete Natural National Park: The main attraction of this park are its tepuytes, vertical and totally flat mountains that look like tables. Some of the tepuytes reach a height of more than 1000 meters and to get there, you need two days of travel that include crossing different rivers.
2. The Iguazu Falls
Located between Argentina and Brazil, cataloged as a World Heritage Site and considered one of the seven wonders of the world, Iguazu Falls are a must when visiting natural places. They have 275 impressive jumps that can be seen in tours of ecological trains and walks.
3. Petrified Forests
These peculiar forests are found in Patagonia, Argentina. It is called petrified forests because after climatic changes and volcanic eruptions in the Jurassic period, the large forests full of trees were petrified.

In 1954, this forest was created and it attracts thousands of tourists annually. According to Welcome Argentina, the forest "is considered unique in the world".
4. Cave Window of Arecibo
In Puerto Rico, you can find this rock formation that has attracted the attention of thousands of travelers. A curious fact about this beautiful place is that Disney filmed some scenes from the movie The Wizards of Beverly Place in the cave.
5. Desert of the Tatacoa
This amazing red landscape full of cactus is located in Villavieja, 40 minutes from Neiva in Colombia. This is the second largest desert in the coffee country that marvels travelers both in the day and in the night. In the day, visitors can admire the beauty of this place and take walks. At night, the desert becomes an astronomical observatory to see the stars.
