Gabriela Rangel: the new director of MALBA

After serving from 2004 to 2019 as Director of Visual Arts at the Americas Society in New York and as Chief Curator of the same institution dedicated to education, debate, and dialogue on the Americas, Gabriela Rangel was named as the new Artistic Director of the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires.

Rangel is not only characterized by her vast experience in the previous institution but also because she also carried out a large number of studies that make her worthy of this position in one of the most important museums in Latin America. Gabriela is a lawyer and social communicator at the Andrés Bello Catholic University in her hometown, and she also studied film at the International Film School of San Antonio de Los Baños in Cuba. In addition to his master's degree at the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, Annadale on Hudson, New York, according to the museum's website.

The founder and president of the museum, Eduardo Costantini, mentioned that the appointment was made after a long search for almost a year when Spaniard Agustín Pérez Rubio, director of the museum between 2014 and 2018, decided to renounce his charge since June 2018.
