Bikini Bottom is in mourning: Goodbye Stephen Hillenburg
The creator of the iconic SpongeBob SquarePants died at age 57 after he was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease
Nickelodeon reported yesterday, November 27, that the creator of SpongeBob Stephem Hillenburg had passed away. The network, which has broadcast the cartoon since its inception in 1999, made the news public and regretted the fact.

Immediately, thousands of fans of the series posted their tributes on social media to thank Hillenburg for all the laughter and fun that SpongeBob and his friends have produced.
Celebrities such as David Hasselhoff have also paid tribute to the person in charge of making so many children and adults laugh. The actor, who appeared in the film of the 2004 cartoon, posted that Stephen had created a magnificent character.
